Volunteer  Survey

Picture
Dear Volunteers,

Gov. Inslee's recent ruling allows us to open to the public on a very limited basis.  In order to do so, we have quite a few requirements that we need to fulfill and could really use your help in doing so. Please read through the information below which provides some overview of these requirements and what we are doing to meet them.  Ensuring the health and safety of our guests, volunteers and staff is our highest priority.

Staff, volunteers and visitors are all impacted by these requirements and we are working hard to meet them.  They include:
  • All patrons over the age of 2 must wear cloth face coverings.
  • Total capacity is limited to 25%.
  • Individual rooms shall be monitored periodically to ensure they are under 25% capacity.
  • All exhibits that allow touching surfaces must be signed with “No Touching” OR employ touchless alternatives.
  • Utilize on-line or phone reservation systems with timed ticketing.
  • In the absence of time ticketing use staggered entry to control capacity limits.
  • Galleries must allow for one-way traffic-flow of patrons through the facility.
  • Regularly sanitize frequently touched surfaces including employee used equipment.
  • Install signage to discourage group congregation, or to limit numbers of people in a certain area.
  • Provide hand sanitizer to patrons.
  • Ensure restrooms are frequently cleaned and appropriately sanitized throughout the day.
  • Gift shops must conform to all Phase 2 retail guidelines.

Some of the things are already implemented or are in process to be implemented:
  • Masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers provided for use by volunteers and visitors as needed
  • Hand sanitizing soap and disinfecting wipes available in the bathrooms and kitchen
  • Disinfecting wipes, solutions, gloves, steamer provided for sanitizing areas as needed
  • Signs posted regarding staying 6' apart, washing hands frequently, etc.
  • Reservations are required for a specific time slot to visit the Museum and restricted to a limited number of people allowed in at any one time
  • One-way traffic flow will be set-up as much as possible
  • Plexiglass shields installed at both the cashier counter and the hostess desk.
  • Screening of staff and volunteers at beginning of shift, encouraging anyone feeling ill to stay home!

Your participation in the survey at right will help us determine what resources and assistance we have available to meet these requirements. We hope you are as excited as we are to be able to open soon!

                                             Amy, Jacque, Jenny & Carla!

The Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum is located on the land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. Many Indigenous peoples thrive here — alive and strong.
With gratitude, we honor their stewardship of these lands since time immemorial to the present day.
This land acknowledgement does not take the place of authentic relationships with indigenous communities.
We also aim to highlight the major artistic contributions made by indigenous Pacific Northwest artists to the history of weaving and textile arts through exhibits and public programs.
