OUR MISSION
The mission of the Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum is to present exhibitions and educational programs in all fiber arts that enrich and inspire, honor cultural traditions, and celebrate the creative spirit.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- No phone calls or in-person visits, please. Email inquiries to director@qfamuseum.org stating which position you are interested in and attach your resume for review. Three references will be required: two professional and one personal. Applicants will be asked to complete an application form, if selected to interview. (Visits during regular Museum hours are acceptable only to drop off letter/resume if applicant does not have access to email.)
- Full job descriptions are currently in process of revision and review by the Board of Directors and will be made available as soon as completed. Drafts will be available to facilitate interview discussions.
- The Museum is in a 3-story historic Victorian mansion requiring all employees be able to ascend/descent three flights of stairs several times per day. We do not have an elevator due to the historic nature of the building.
- For this same reason, office space is limited and employees are required to share available work space as needed.
Note: The following two positions are posted as part-time, however could be combined into a full-time position if candidate has all required skills and interest. This would increase the number of paid holidays, accrue vacation and paid time off at a higher rate, and employee would be eligible for health insurance. Annual range: $40,560-42,016 (salaried, non-exempt; eligible for over-time.)
Exhibition Manager
Part-time, regular; average of 20 hours/week, dependent upon work-load. Occasional evening and weekend time required.
Onsite with limited telecommuting available
Summary: This position has overall responsibility for the Museum's exhibition programs which includes researching, planning and overseeing presentation of all exhibits from both outside sources and the permanent collection. It requires a great deal of communication, organization and planning. The person best suited for this job will have a passion for quilts and fiber arts, strong administrative skills, and enjoy establishing relationships with artists, guilds and museums from across the US and globally. Must be able to effectively function as part of a tightly-knit team!
Compensation: Hourly, negotiable DOE Range: $19.50-20.20/hour
Benefits: Some paid holidays and pro-rated vacation and paid time off.

Desktop Publishing Assistant
Part-time, temporary; hours flexible dependent upon work-load
Onsite
Summary: Desktop publishing will be the primary responsibility of this person, while also assisting with assorted other marketing tasks such as placing ads, coordinating mailings, etc. Successful applicant must be experienced with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, or similar publishing program, and have a keen eye for detail and layout. Applicant will be asked to provide samples of prior work and to discuss their role in the production of the piece(s).
