Join Our Team of Volunteers

Volunteering gives individuals opportunities to learn about quilts and fiber art, explore behind-the-scenes of our exhibitions and collection, and form friendships with other quilters and fiber artists!

Join our Board of Directors!

Our Board is an active, working board composed of dedicated volunteers who support the Museum through governance, strategic planning, fundraising, advocacy, and hands-on participation in Museum programs and events. Board service offers a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of quilting, fiber arts, and arts engagement throughout the Pacific Northwest.

While we welcome candidates from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds, we are currently especially interested in individuals with experience or expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Volunteer recruitment and coordination
  • Education and public programming
  • Development and fundraising
  • Legal services
  • Marketing and communications
  • Building and grounds maintenance
  • Nonprofit/ museum operations
  • Nonprofit finance

Previous board experience is appreciated but not required. More important than prior board service is a commitment to collaboration, thoughtful leadership, and a passion for textile and fiber arts, history, education, and community engagement. We are seeking individuals who are invested in helping the Museum continue to grow, thrive, and serve our region.
If you are interested in learning more about Board service or would like to be considered for membership, please send a résumé or CV along with a brief statement describing your interest in joining the Board to Board President Echo Mae at [email protected].

Questions about Board service are welcome, and prospective candidates are encouraged to contact Echo for more information!

The Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum is located on the land of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. Many Indigenous peoples thrive here — alive and strong.
With gratitude, we honor their stewardship of these lands since time immemorial to the present day.
This land acknowledgement does not take the place of authentic relationships with indigenous communities.
We also aim to highlight the major artistic contributions made by indigenous Pacific Northwest artists to the history of weaving and textile arts through exhibits and public programs.
